Entering the Xinying Service Area from National Freeway No.1 at milepost 284 km + 200, visitors will find themselves in the scenic Xinying Service Area park surrounded by blossoming Buddha’s Lamp, bougainvillea, crepe myrtle, and Tecoma. The park includes a lotus pond with an artificial waterfall. A sign on the building next to the park reads “Xinying Service Area” on its wall. The service area is divided into northbound and southbound sides linked by a footbridge. Images of Anping District’s Old Tait & Company Merchant House, a popular tourist attraction featuring a former warehouse overgrown with Banyan trees, as well as of the Taisugar factory are incorporated into the design of the service area to recreate scenes from the olden days and recall the memories of Taiwan’s oldest city, Tainan.
